Wayne Lee
I am currently a Trustee on the San Mateo County Community College District Board representing Area 3. I am a former two-time mayor and councilmember for the City of Millbrae where I am raising my son. I have been endorsed by the San Mateo County Democratic Party in all of my election campaigns.
Beyond my work on the city council, I have been invested in volunteering and supporting many causes in my community and the in the region. I am a founding President of the Millbrae Education Foundation which now raises $500,000 annually for our local public middle and elementary schools. As the former president of the Millbrae Lions Club during the pandemic lockdowns, I led the club’s effort to donate $40,000 to needy families and charities.
As hate crimes against the Asian Pacific Islander (API) community increased during the past few years, I organized in the API community to raise awareness and to connect with local leaders requesting that they speak out and take action to help protect residents. This included
helping to establish and serve as the first president/executive director of the San Mateo County Asian Pacific Islander Caucus which supports API candidates and champions issues of concern to the API community.
I am a Cal Berkeley engineering graduate and spent most of my career with the Bay Area Air Quality Management District working to protect our air quality by pinpointing sources of pollution and enforcing compliance with clean air regulations.
I am a former alternate for the San Mateo County Democratic Central Committee and have worked in support of numerous candidates and measure campaigns advancing Democratic Party objectives.
