Lisa Diaz Nash

I am the District 1 representative of the San Mateo City Council and the immediate past Mayor.  I was elected in 2022 after years of grassroots activism in my community.

 

I have served on the boards of the San Mateo Public Library, HIP Housing, Rotary Haciendas LLC (Low-income senior housing), and am a Samaritan House Board Advisor and Planned Parenthood volunteer, among many service pursuits. 

 

I am a committed, lifelong Democrat and have volunteered in many capacities for 30+ candidate and issue campaigns.  For the past eight years, I have served as a Peninsula Co-Captain for Sister District Project, focusing on building progressive power in state legislatures across the country.

 

I hold a Graduate Certificate in Mandarin Chinese from National Taiwan Normal University and a BA with Honors from Swarthmore College.

 

My husband and I have raised two wonderful daughters who also are active Democrats and community organizers.
