David Burruto

I have lived in San Mateo County for over 25 years and along with my wife have raised our daughter here who attends local public schools.

 

Professionally, I serve as the district director for Assemblymember Diane Papan and previously served as chief of staff for San Mateo County Supervisor Dave Pine.

 

I am veteran Democratic Party activist having served on the San Mateo County Democratic Central Committee (SMCDCC) for over 20 years, six years as the chair. Throughout my tenure on the SMCDCC I served in various capacities including as the former endorsement committee chair and Northern Vice Chair.

 

It has been my distinct honor to help build the Democratic Party in San Mateo County and elect and re-elect outstanding local leaders who continue to champion issues such as affordable housing, improving public transit, supporting quality public education, environmental stewardship, gender and racial equality, LGBTQ rights and maintaining and improving labor standards among many efforts.
 

As a local activist I have worked on numerous candidate and measure campaigns, drafted ballot arguments and helped to raise the necessary resources to succeed.

 

Beyond my political activity, I was a Girl Scout troop co-leader for many years and served on the Hep-B Free Bay Area advisory board for San Mateo County.
