Charles Stone
I am a former two-time mayor and councilmember for the City of Belmont as well as a former member of the San Mateo County Transit District (SamTrans) and Caltrain boards. Currently, I am a partner at Goethals & Stone, PC, a law firm focusing on protecting the rights of victims.
During my time in office, I championed many progressive causes including affordable housing and many social equity efforts such as an increased minimum wage. I was a longtime associate member of the San Mateo County Democratic Central Committee, a current Californian Democratic Party Delegate and have actively supported numerous candidate and local measure campaigns.
I am a native of San Mateo County where I am raising my daughters and have been an active member of my community. I have been a school library volunteer, a classroom volunteer, a volunteer with School-Force (Belmont-Redwood Shores District Public School Foundation) --where I served as Endowment Chair -- and as a volunteer as a soccer, softball, and basketball coach and umpire/referee and high school mock trial coach.
I am graduate of UC San Diego and Santa Clara University School of Law, and a small business owner on the Peninsula.
