Cathy Jordan
I have lived in Belmont for 25 years and raised my daughters here. During that time, I have always been invested in my community volunteering locally and later running for and serving two terms on the Belmont Redwood Shores Elementary School District Board of Trustees and previously on the Belmont City Council as an interim appointee and the first Filipino-American woman to serve on the council.
Most recently, I served as Vice-President on the Mid-Peninsula Water District Board of Directors. To my knowledge, I am the only person in the history of Belmont to serve on all three of those bodies representing Belmont residents in local government.
This year, I was elected to the Belmont City Council to represent District 2.
In my professional career, I serve as a Customer Marketing Consultant. I have led and transformed teams responsible for all things customer, ranging from customer sales references, customer stories, videos, speaking engagements, press, media, & analyst engagement, awards, and rewards programs.
I have a degree in Speech and Communication Studies from San Francisco State University where I was an active member of the SFSU Collegiate Debate Team.
As a daughter of Filipino immigrants, I witnessed my parents living the American dream. We were not rich, but we never were without. My parents worked hard and put all three of their children through school. They were able to retire early and live a dignified life. This is what I want for my family and for all families and that is what motivates my public service.
